BoxHill Landscape Design Getting Started

Steps to a successful design experience:

1.   First and foremost, please fill out and submit the questionnaire. Be sure to include a plot plan (if you have one) and review the initial fee document.

2.   After we have reviewed your questionnaire, a Boxhill representative will call you to set up your first appointment.

3.   During the first meeting we will walk and measure your existing landscape, discuss ideas, problems or concerns, learn your desires and review any photos or images you may like.

4.   As a follow up to the first meeting, you will receive a written outline of the proposed scope of work, plus a time and design cost estimate.

5.   Boxhill will begin the design process upon receiving the signed and accepted proposal and an initial deposit.

6.   Boxhill will present you with a preliminary pencil drawing. Following your review of the drawing, your Boxhill designer will be glad to answer questions, discuss things you may not like or suggest changes or alternate ideas to address any concerns you may have.

7.   Once the preliminary drawing is accepted, a Boxhill draftsman will convert the pencil drawing into a computerized format (called Auto cad).

8.   You will receive two copies of your final design in Auto cad format. Although different for each client’s situation and needs (which will be specified in the agreed upon contract), the drawings generally include: a scaled drawing of your design, placement of all plants, lighting and hardscape material, details and specifications for materials and plants.

9.   After receiving your plans, Boxhill will be happy to assist you with arranging the installation process or you may choose to hire a contractor on your own. If Boxhill assists with the bidding process, there will be an hourly fee required for those services.

10.   Although the process may seem like a lot, Boxhill will strive to make it a smooth, enjoyable and even an educational process. We do ask you to please trust the design process. We are confident it will yield a design that is timeless, sustainable and a piece of you.
